Vivek Singh

Vivek was born on 24th August 1976. He burst on the national scene in 1987 when he won 1 Gold and 2 Silver at the National Shooting Championships. Subsequently gold medal performances at the National level have become routine and Vivek needs exposure to stiffer International Competition in order to improve.An outstanding athlete, who has already obtained the M.Q.S. (Minimum Qualifying Standard) for the 2000 Olympic Games, Vivek will use his program funding to engage a foreign coach (Tibor Gonczol) and to compete internationally as much as possible.

  • 1997 National Games: 5 Gold, 1 Silver and 1 Bronze (Established a new NationalRecord for the Free Pistol, an Olympic Event.
  • 1994 Commonwealth Games: Bronze in Air Pistol (Team Event)
  • 1995 Commonwealth Shooting Championships: Gold in Free pistol (Team Event)
  • 1997 Commonwealth Shooting Championships: Gold in Free pistol (Team Event)
  • 1998 Fort Benning Grand Prix: Bronze in Individual Standard Pistol witha score of 570/600.
  • 1998 U.I.T. World Cup: Individual score of 578/600 in Free Pistol and obtainedan M.Q.S. for the 2000 Sydney Olympic Games.
