Independantly handled government liason and public relations for Ford while the manufacturing unit was being set up near Chennai.

This included the first ever visit to India by Ford's world-wide CEO Mr. Alex Trotman and his meeting along with Mr. Keshub Mahindra, Mr. Anand Mahindra and Mahindra Ford's CEO, Mr. John Parker, with the then Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Thiru M.Karunanidhi.

This project also showcased our crisis management skills as Ford was facing tremendous local hostility from villagers in the Maraimalainagar area (where the factory was being set up), as the land earmarked for the Ford factory was the traditional grazing land of the local community. We resolved this issue successfully, by advising Ford to invest in unique community development activity in the area, the establishing of a primary health centre and also to employ locals in the factory wherever possible. Set up at an investment of over Rs. 0.50 crore, the primary health centre in Maraimalainagar has treated over 100,000 patients till date, completely free of cost and has been very effective in the acceptance of Ford India's operations by the local population.

We also organised and conducted meetings between Ford and ACME (Automobile Component Manufacturers), Business Houses, Government and Academia during Mr. Trotman's visit to India.
