Sagari Mohite

Sagari Mohite

Sagari is a textile artist with ‘Gobelin’ french tapestry weaving as her chosen medium of communication between herself and her creative spirit. She has been weaving tapestry since 1986 and has now a body of work which she presents here.

The significance of the work is that unlike most other tapestry weavers around the world, who use photographic images as their source of inspiration, Sagari’s work is purely by spiritual inspiration. She sits down at her tapestry loom and lets it flow. Therefore every piece is original, and expresses her self through the medium of colour.

She lives in Goa, where she has her studio and shop called ‘FATCAT’, The Weaving Workshop. Creating small experimental products on the handloom, like rugs, wall hangings, shawls and bags.

Prices upon request.
